Applications
Silent Mode
When the Secure RFID Chip is switched into ‘Silent Mode’ the Chip will only answer an authorised reading application. Unauthorised read requests will not even notice that a RFID Tag is within reading distance.
‘Silent Mode’ requires one-step authentication through an authentication message sent to the RFID Tag. Only an application with access to the unique shared secret can produce the correct authentication message.
The Silent Mode enables the complete transfer of control to the Consumer providing true Consumer empowerment this is what we call ‘Privacy Mode’.
Authenticity Check
When products can be counterfeited as we see it with a variety of different product types then how can we be certain that the RFID Tag has not been counterfeited?
Through our Authenticity Check we leverage the value that only an application with access to the unique shared secret can produce the correct authentication message and only the right RFID Tag, with the same unique shared secret, can produce the right authentication answer.
If the RFID Tag does not answer according to the prepared correct answer, the RFID Tag can not be authenticated.
With this Authenticity Check RFID is the perfect technology to combat counterfeit since real-time product authenticity can be implemented without the need for complete tracing of the product through the product life cycle.
Data on the RFID Tag
Using RFIDsec’s secure RFID tags means the customers has the choice whether data should be on the tag, in a central database, in a local database or a combination. This is only possible because the integrity of the data is ensured through encryption. Data on the tag means;
- Ability to work offline
- Access to instant information on site
- Maintain product history on the product itself
- Better performance
- Ability to meet specific application requirements
